While we understand that we can't please everyone at all times, we do care about the trust, safety, and happiness of all users. To help to make this easier for both you and ourselves, we have a few ground rules that we expect and require everyone, including us, to follow.

These rules are not an exhaustive list of things you can't do. In some situations we may have to make exceptions, so please respect the decisions made by us. This Code of Conduct applies to our entire platform, as well as other places we use for communication such as socialmedia and physical events.

Be welcoming, friendly, and patient

We don't want anyone to feel excluded from participating in any communications, which means that we ask you to be supportive towards people of all backgrounds. This includes but is not limited to members of any race, culture, origin, color, status, sex, sexual orientation, age, size, political belief, religion, (dis)abilities, and more.

Be considerate and think before acting

Everything you say or do will have an impact on somebody. People depend on you, and you will depend on others, in some way or another. Take into account possible consequences account before you say or do something. Remember that you might not be communicating in someone's native language.

Be respectful and behave properly

With any form of communication, we can't expect everyone to agree all the time, but disagreement is no excuse for bad behavior or having no manners. We all can experience frustrations sometimes, but in no situation is this a reason to turn this into a personal attack. We require everyone that participates in any form of communication to be respectful.

When you disagree with someone, try to understand their point of view. We all are different in our own way, meaning different people have different perspectives on the same things. The fact that someone has a different point of view doesn't always mean they are wrong.

Don't just post anything you like

While it's tempting to post whatever you feel like posting, we want you to understand that not everyone looks at something the same way as you do. Being a community of volunteers, hobbyists, and professionals, we expect you to threat others in a kind manner and not insult other users. Harassment and other prohibited behavior aren’t acceptable. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Discriminating jokes and language;
  • Posting, or threatening to post, other people's personal information;
  • Attempting to gather people's personal information or passwords from other users;
  • Posting, promoting, or linking to illegal software, or software that is cracked, contains viruses, trojans, worms, or can otherwise harm services or people's devices;
  • Posting sexually explicit or violent material, whether real or illustrated;
  • Personal insults, especially those using racist or sexist terms;
  • Violent language or threats against another person or persons;
  • Start or engage in any conduct that is fraudulent or illegal or otherwise harmful to us or any user;
  • Spamming, posting content unrelated to the topic, or hijacking conversations or threads;
  • Advertising or promoting software or services without being asked about such software or services.
  • Impersonation of other people or pretending something is yours when it is not.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging any of the above behavior;

Some of the platforms or channels we use to communicate may have additional rules that you are required to follow.

We have the right to act against any violation of this Code of Conduct, as described in the Terms of Service.

If you want to report harassment or prohibited behavior, please contact a moderator or submit a ticket.

Please note that we may revise this policy if we believe changes are needed to maintain the quality and safety of communications. If you have any questions or comments concerning this policy, please let us know by contacting us here.
