Dacia Club Nederland is an association based in the Netherlands. This Privacy Policy applies to visitors to daciaclubnederland.nl and users who have registered with Dacia Club Nederland ("we", "us" or "our"). Capitalized terms that have been used in this Privacy Policy shall have the meaning set forth herein or in our Terms of Service.


Information you share with us

1.1 Basic Account Information

You do not have to sign up for an account to use some parts of our platform, like reading most articles on our blog. When you choose to create an account, you are required to share some personal data so that we can provide our services to you. These details include your username, email, and password. Your nickname is public and can be changed in your account settings.

1.2 Public Information

Various features on our platform are private, but certain information is visible to the public. This includes topics on the forums and profile information you choose to share (biography, avatar, etc.). We always keep personal information private, but you remain responsible for any information you share publicly on our platform.

1.3 Non-Public Communication

We provide ways for you to communicate directly to users as well as contacting dealerships. When you use these ways of communication, we store the conversations and information related to them. While we do not actively monitor your messages, we will take action when we receive reports of abuse or other violations of our Terms of Service. You will be notified when such situations occur.

1.4 Payment Information

We do not store and process payment data, such as card numbers and other financial information. When you purchase a subscription, Mollie B.V. conducts the payment process.


Other Information

2.1 Location Data

When you use our services, we receive your IP address and device information, like operating system, model, and browser version. We only store and process this information when you are logged in to your account. This information is used to secure your account and make sure it's really you who is logging in. This data is removed after a week, or when you sign out, whichever comes first. If you are not logged in, we do not store any location data.

2.2 Cookies

A cookie is a small piece of data stored on your device. Like many websites, we use cookies to be able to make our platform work. While we would rather not use cookies, we do need them to be able to keep you logged in, store your selected language and remember other preferences. We do not use cookies for advertising, tracking or statistical purposes.

2.3 Logs & Reports

We try to keep logging to a minimum, which is why we only store the following types of logs: session data (to keep you logged in), sent emails, and activity related to account security.

2.4 Advertising Data

As we are not in the advertising business, we do not process your data for advertising purposes. Neither do we use third-party services to provide personalized content.

2.5 Children and Data

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 16. If you are under the age of 16, please do not submit any personal information through our platform. We encourage parents and legal guardians to monitor their children's internet usage and to help enforce this policy by instructing their children to never provide personal information through our platform without their permission.

2.6 Information Security

While it's a common statement, we do care about the security of the data you share with us. Our platform uses the latest security measures and techniques to protect your data in-transit. When we store your data, we take reasonable steps to help protect your personal information in an effort to prevent loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

It is your responsibility to protect your usernames and passwords to help prevent anyone from accessing or abusing your account. We are not responsible for any damage that occurs to your account whilst using our platform for negligence on your behalf.


Data Sharing and Disclosure

3.1 Service Providers

We use service providers to be able to host and operate our platform. You can find a list of service providers that we use and what we share here.

We may share and/or receive (some) of your personal information with/from those service providers subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy, as well as any other confidentiality and security measures. These service providers do not share or disclose any of your data with third-party organizations.

3.2 Law & Regulations

We will disclose any information we collect, use or receive if required or permitted by a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to protect the safety of any person; to protect the safety or integrity of our platform, including to help prevent spam and abuse, or to explain why we have removed content or accounts from our platform; to address fraud, security, or technical issues; or to protect our rights or property or the rights or property of those who use our services. In such cases, we will always notify you in advance in detail before disclosing any data that may be related to you, including personal and non-personal data.

This Privacy Policy is not intended to limit any legal defenses you may have against any third-party's, including the government's, request to disclose your data. We may reject requests for your data if we find that the request is not strictly required by local law, is extremely impractical, or is frivolous/vexatious.


Managing your Data

4.1 Data Portability

We provide ways to access any data we have about you and any data that you have shared with us. You can download this data by navigating to the Privacy section in your account settings.

4.2 Data Rectification

It may happen that information we have about you is incorrect, or you want us to change it. We provide ways for you to update your data yourself, in your account settings. If you need any assistance, you can always contact us.

4.3 Object, Restrict, or Withdraw Consent

When you are logged in to your account, you can manage your privacy and other account-related settings at any time. It may take a short amount of time for changed to be fully reflected throughout our systems.

4.4 Data Deletion

You have the right to request deletion of your data at any time. By default, we keep session logs for a maximum of 7 days. You can remove information from your account yourself, in your account settings.

To delete all data we have about you, you need to delete your account via your account settings. Doing so will permanently remove all data related to your account, and your account itself. Please keep in mind that we have the right to deny such requests in cases where legal authorities are involved, such as requests for your information.
